In order to prevent delays during the entry/exit of goods into/from the EU,
a safety and security assessment is performed before the
entry/exit of goods into/from the EU.For that purpose, carriers or their authorised representatives lodge
in-advance entry/exit summary declarations.
EXS (Exit Summary Declaration) is an electronic declaration of goods being carried out of the EU customs territory. The declaration is lodged to the customs office of exit and represents an in-advance notification in accordance with the EU security and safety provisions.
ECS (Export Control system) is a system for the control and surveillance of the export procedure, from the customs office of export to the customs office of exit.
Goods being exported under the coverage of the ECS declaration do not require an Exit summary declaration because all the required safety and security data is already contained by the ECS declaration data.
The processing of export declarations and their submission to ECS is implemented in the Brix Customs module.
An ENS is an electronic declaration of goods being carried into the customs territory of the EU, lodged to the first customs office of entry and contains the data necessary for risk assessment and regular customs control for safety and security purposes.
The declaration is required to be lodged in advance for all goods entering the EU territory on a means of transport, within certain time limits for lodging depending on the type of transportation.
ICS (Import Control System) implements the EU safety and security legislation which requires carriers (or their authorised representatives) to provide pre-arrival information, in a specified format, for all cargo entering the EU regardless of the eventual destination of the cargo.
